Direct digital X-ray.
Finally affordable.
NanoPix Size 1 & Size 2 · USB · IP68 · AED Technology
The NanoPix is the world's thinnest intraoral sensor — and the most affordable direct digital sensor we've ever sold. Instant images, lower dose, and seamless integration with your practice management software. No more waiting for phosphor plates to process.

Phosphor plates have their place.
But not on every surgery.
A phosphor plate system makes sense as a shared machine across multiple surgeries. But for the surgery that takes X-rays every day, direct digital sensors are faster, safer, and clearer — they've just been too expensive. Until now.
📋 Phosphor Plate System
- 30–60 seconds to scan and process each plate
- Image quality degrades over time
- Plates scratch and need regular replacing
- Higher radiation dose required
- Workflow interrupted — patient waits while plate processes
- Scanner unit ties up one room
⚡ NanoPix Direct Digital Sensor
- Image appears in under 3 seconds
- Consistent quality across 50,000+ exposures
- No consumables — sensor lasts for years
- Lower dose thanks to APS CMOS technology
- Image on screen before you remove the sensor
- One sensor per surgery, plugs into any USB port
Built on aerospace and medical technology
AED — Automatic Exposure Detection
Borrowed from chest radiography. The sensor detects your X-ray the moment it fires — no button to press, no footswitch needed. Compatible with virtually every DC and AC X-ray generator in UK practices.
APS CMOS Technology
Used in the aerospace industry for its high signal-to-noise ratio. Delivers maximum image detail at lower radiation doses — giving you diagnostically sharp images while keeping patient dose as low as possible.
Direct Deposition CsI Scintillator
Caesium iodide scintillator technology — again from chest radiography — converts X-rays into light with exceptional efficiency. The result is high resolution images at reduced exposure times.
4.4mm Ultra-Thin Body
The thinnest intraoral sensor available. Easier to position, more comfortable for patients, and less likely to cause the gagging that makes periapical radiography difficult — particularly on posterior teeth.
IP68 Waterproof Rating
Fully sealed against moisture and dust. The NanoPix can withstand the wet intraoral environment and the rigours of daily decontamination. One sensor, thousands of patients, years of reliable service.
Simple USB Connection
No control box. No external power supply. Just plug into any USB 2.0 port on your surgery computer. Quick to install, easy to move between rooms if needed, and compatible with most UK practice management systems.
Size 1 or Size 2 — both in stock
Both sensors share the same technology platform. Choose based on your patient mix. Size 2 gives maximum coverage; Size 1 is ideal for smaller mouths, children, and difficult posterior cases.
NanoPix Size 1
Smaller active area — ideal for children, smaller adult mouths, and posterior cases where patient comfort is a priority. Same imaging quality as Size 2.
- Active area: 20mm × 30mm
- Detector: APS CMOS + CsI scintillator
- Resolution: 20 lp/mm (theoretical), ≥12 lp/mm (true)
- AD conversion: 16-bit
- USB 2.0 · IP68 · 4.4mm thin
- Cable length: 2.7m
- Supplied with sensor sleeves, bracket & software
NanoPix Size 2
Larger active area for maximum coverage per exposure. The go-to choice for most adult patients. Reduces the number of exposures needed per appointment.
- Active area: 27mm × 36mm
- Detector: APS CMOS + CsI scintillator
- Resolution: 20 lp/mm (theoretical), ≥12 lp/mm (true)
- AD conversion: 16-bit
- USB 2.0 · IP68 · 4.4mm thin
- Cable length: 2.7m
- Supplied with sensor sleeves, bracket & software
Works with your existing setup
The NanoPix connects via USB and is compatible with most UK practice management systems. It also supports TWAIN, making integration straightforward even if your software isn't listed below.
