The Carestream
CS 7200 Neo — chairside
Smart Plates.
Smart Plate technology in a compact chairside system. Single-surgery use or shared between operatories — same auto-routing as the CS 7600, a fraction of the footprint.
A chip in every plate. Zero mix-ups, ever.
The Smart Plate carries the patient and operatory data with it. When you scan, the image routes itself to the right file and the right workstation — automatically. The Neo Edition upgrade brings the same auto-routing technology that powers the CS 7600 to a chairside system.
Why practices choose the CS 7200 Neo.
Six things that separate the Neo Edition from every other compact PSP scanner on the market.
Every plate carries a chip that tags it to a patient and an operatory. Images route automatically — no sorting, no labelling, no mistakes.
Run it as a dedicated chairside scanner for a single surgery, or connect multiple workstations and share it across operatories. Your choice.
Covers all standard adult and paediatric work — anterior, periapical, bitewing and small mouths. The same Smart Plates as the CS 7600.
Sits comfortably on any chairside surface. No dedicated scanning room, no central station, no rearranging the practice.
Carestream's standard imaging platform — fast viewing, processing, and integration with most UK practice management systems.
Outgrow it? Your Smart Plates and sheaths carry straight over to the CS 7600. Same workflow, same habits — bigger scanner.
A scanner that doesn't dominate the surgery.
Most PSP scanners need their own room or a dedicated bench. The CS 7200 Neo doesn't.
The CS 7200 Neo is small enough to live on the worktop, in a drawer or in a corridor between surgeries. No dedicated room. No specialist plumbing. No rearranging the practice.
Place it where your team actually works — chairside in a single surgery, or networked across operatories so any clinician can scan into their own patient file. Smart Plate routing handles the rest.
And because the Neo Edition's transport mechanism is sealed and self-cleaning, there's no roller cleaning plate to run, no routine maintenance plate cycle — one less consumable to stock, one less step in the day.
Smart Plates and sheaths — UK stock, same-day dispatch.
Cross-compatible with the CS 7600 — if you upgrade, your consumables carry over.
The detail.
The 360 difference.
Is a different imaging system right for you?
The CS 7200 Neo is the right call for most chairside and small shared setups. Two alternatives are worth a look depending on your case mix.

What's the difference between the CS 7200 Neo and the original CS 7200?
The Neo Edition adds Smart Plate technology — a built-in chip in every plate that pre-registers patient and operatory data. This enables automatic image routing to the correct patient file. The original CS 7200 used plain plates without this capability.
How is it different from the CS 7600?
Both use Smart Plates. The CS 7200 Neo is a compact, lower-cost chairside system for single-surgery or small shared use, supporting sizes 0–2. The CS 7600 is a higher-capacity multi-surgery system supporting all five plate sizes and up to 10 workstations. If your practice has 3 or more surgeries sharing one scanner, the CS 7600 is usually the better choice.
What plate sizes does it support?
Sizes 0, 1 and 2 — covering paediatric, adult anterior, periapical and bitewing work. For sizes 3 (long bitewing) and 4 (occlusal), you'd need the CS 7600.
Can I upgrade to the CS 7600 later?
Yes — and your Smart Plates and sheaths (sizes 0–2) carry over completely. Your team's workflow habits carry over too. The only change is the scanner unit.
