Features & Benefits

Intelligent curing, purpose-built for the modern surgery

Every technical choice in the Curing Pen X exists to solve a real clinical problem — from posterior access to polymerisation shrinkage to verifying your actual output before a case.

01

4-LED broad-spectrum engine

Three blue LEDs plus one violet LED produce a 380–515 nm output that cures every current composite resin, including TPO-initiator materials. No more switching lights for different brands.

02

3000 mW/cm² peak output

Ultra mode delivers 3000 mW/cm² for deep, reliable polymerisation of thick increments and indirect restorations — in cures as short as 1 second.

03

8 mm head, 360° rotation

The ultra-thin 8 mm head rotates freely for any angle. Reach second molars without contorting your wrist and cure with the beam aimed exactly where you need it.

04

Built-in light meter

The charging base has an integrated radiometer. Every time you dock the pen, you can verify actual output in real time — no separate tester, no guessing whether your light is still at spec.

05

Bluetooth & 2-inch touchscreen

Colour display with touch control makes mode selection, intensity and time adjustment intuitive. Firmware updates and settings sync over Bluetooth.

06

65 g ergonomic handpiece

At just 65 g including the head, the Curing Pen X is noticeably lighter than premium-brand curing lights. Balanced handling reduces fatigue across back-to-back restorations.

07

Pulse & Ramp modes

Gradually ramp or pulse the output to let resin release shrinkage stress during polymerisation — better marginal integrity and reduced post-op sensitivity.

08

Dual caries detection

Switch to violet fluorescence mode to highlight caries and plaque, or to white light for general intraoral inspection — a curing light that doubles as a diagnostic aid.

09

1,200+ full-power cures per charge

A high-capacity lithium battery delivers over 1,200 full-intensity cures between charges. The magnetic charging base slots neatly into the operatory and keeps the pen always ready.

Eight Modes. One Pen.

A mode for every clinical scenario

From routine composite work through bracket bonding to caries detection, the Curing Pen X is pre-programmed for the curing task in front of you. Time and intensity are fully adjustable within each mode.

M1 Curing Pen X Normal Mode M1 interface

Normal

1200 mW/cm² · 5 / 10 / 15 / 20 / 40s

Reliable everyday curing for standard composite restorations — your workhorse setting for the majority of routine cases.

M2 Curing Pen X High Mode M2 interface

High

2000 mW/cm² · 3 / 5 / 10s

Fast composite cures that meaningfully reduce chair time while still achieving excellent depth of cure across the increment.

M3 Curing Pen X Ultra Mode M3 interface

Ultra

3000 mW/cm² · 1 / 3s

Maximum output for demanding cures and indirect restorations — deep, reliable polymerisation of thick increments in as little as one second.

M4 Curing Pen X Ortho Mode M4 interface

Ortho

3000 mW/cm² · 3s on / 2s off · 2–10 cycles

Pulsed high-intensity cycles optimised for bracket bonding — strong adhesion without the overheating risk of continuous high output.

M5 Curing Pen X Pulse Mode M5 interface

Pulse

1200 mW/cm² · 0.8s on / 0.2s off · 5–20s

Intermittent pulsing lets the resin release shrinkage stress mid-cure — better marginal integrity, less microleakage over the long term.

M6 Curing Pen X Ramp Mode M6 interface

Ramp

Ramp to 1200 mW/cm² · 5 / 10 / 15 / 20s

Gradual output increase reaches full intensity at five seconds, minimising stress at the tooth-restoration interface and reducing post-op sensitivity.

M7 Curing Pen X Detect Violet Mode M7 interface

Detect — Violet

600 mW/cm² · 30 / 60s

Violet fluorescence highlights caries and plaque for precise, minimally invasive diagnosis — a curing light that earns its keep before the resin even comes out.

M8 Curing Pen X Detect White Mode M8 interface

Detect — White

1200 mW/cm² · 60 / 180 / 300s

Sustained bright white illumination for general intraoral inspection and detail work — up to five minutes of clear, steady light on demand.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions — Eighteeth Curing Pen X

What comes in the box?
Each Curing Pen X ships with the handpiece, 360° rotatable 8 mm light head, magnetic charging base with integrated radiometer, mains adapter, protective light shield, and a starter pack of disposable barrier sleeves. Everything you need to start curing out of the box.
How does it compare to Bluephase, Valo and other premium curing lights?
The Curing Pen X matches premium curing lights on the specifications that actually matter clinically — 3000 mW/cm² peak output, broad 380–515 nm spectrum, pulse and ramp modes, full 360° head rotation — at roughly a third of the price of a top-tier Bluephase or Valo setup. The built-in radiometer on the charging base is a genuine differentiator most premium lights don't include as standard.
Will it cure every composite I use?
Yes. The 380–515 nm broad spectrum is designed to cure every current composite resin on the market, including those that use TPO photo-initiators (which narrower blue-only lights can struggle with). The 4-LED engine uses three blue LEDs plus one violet, covering both the camphorquinone absorption peak (~470 nm) and the TPO peak (~400 nm).
How do the caries detection modes actually work?
The violet detection mode (M7) uses fluorescence — healthy enamel fluoresces green under violet light, while caries, plaque and calculus show up darker red/orange. It's a fast chairside aid to spot lesions you might otherwise miss, especially on proximal surfaces. The white detection mode (M8) is simply a bright, sustained white light for general intraoral examination without needing the overhead or loupe light turned up.
Is the charging base's light meter actually accurate?
Yes — the integrated radiometer is factory-calibrated and gives you a real output reading in mW/cm² every time you dock the pen. It's not a substitute for a calibrated third-party test for CQC or audit purposes, but it's a fast daily confidence check that your light is still curing at spec and hasn't silently degraded.
How do you clean and sterilise the Curing Pen X?
The light head is detachable and fully autoclavable at 135°C. Disposable barrier sleeves are provided for the handpiece body between patients. The charging base and handpiece housing are wiped down with a standard clinical disinfectant. Use the magnetic replacement head if one is in the autoclave cycle — the unit is designed to stay in service all day.
Does 360 Visualise offer training and support?
Yes. Every Curing Pen X is supplied with installation advice, a team walkthrough of the 8 modes, and ongoing UK-based phone and email support. We stock replacement heads, sleeves and consumables in Yorkshire for next-day dispatch.
