Why go direct

The fastest way from exposure to answer.

A phosphor plate has to be carried to a scanner and read. Film has to be processed. A direct sensor skips all of it — the image appears on screen the moment you take the shot. Across a busy day, those saved seconds add up to real chair time.

01

Position

Seat the sensor — the thinner rear-entry cable makes placement easier and comfier for the patient.

02

Expose

One exposure at a low dose. No plate to sleeve and carry, no darkroom, no waiting.

03

View

The image is on screen in under two seconds — ready to zoom, enhance and diagnose while the patient is still in the chair.

What you get

Built for speed. Made to last.

Instant image

On screen in under two seconds. No scanning step, no processing — just position, expose, view.

Up to 24 lp/mm clarity

True resolution that resolves fine canals, margins and bone detail — 16 lp/mm on the 5200, 24 lp/mm on the 6200.

Pre-set image filters

Perio, endo and dentin-enamel presets tuned to the job — the right image, first look. CS Adapt on the 6200.

Tough & waterproof

Shock-resistant against bites and drops, and fully submersible for proper disinfection.

Easy placement

A thinner cable and smooth, rounded feel make seating quicker and kinder for the patient.

Works with your software

Integrates with most practice-management and imaging software — no need to rip out your setup.

Perfect partner

A sensor is only as good as its placement.

Hand-holding a sensor drifts — cone-cuts, overlaps, retakes. DenBite universal holders lock the geometry for you, so every RVG image is diagnostic first time.

  • Fits Carestream (and Kodak) RVG sensors, Size 1 & Size 2
  • Autoclavable to 134°C — reusable at a disposable price
  • Holders for every view, plus the open-basket endo design

The name you already trust

The sensor that set the standard.

RVG — RadioVisioGraphy — was the original direct digital intraoral sensor, known for years as the Kodak RVG and now made by Carestream. Same trusted line, same name dentists still ask for, refined over decades into today's RVG 5200 and 6200. If you learned digital radiography on a Kodak RVG, this is where it went next.

Frequently asked

Good questions, straight answers.

Both are direct digital sensors from the same Carestream RVG line. The 5200 gives you 16 lp/mm resolution at a lower price — excellent for everyday general dentistry. The 6200 steps up to 24 lp/mm with the full CS Adapt filter set, for the finest detail in implant and endodontic work. Both come in Size 1 and Size 2.

Yes. RVG was originally a Kodak product and is now made by Carestream — the same trusted sensor line, still called RVG. If your practice still refers to it as the Kodak RVG, the 5200 and 6200 are its current generations.

Size 1 is ideal for periapicals and endo; Size 2 is ideal for bitewings and posteriors. Many practices run one of each — tell us your caseload and we’ll advise.

In almost all cases, yes. RVG sensors integrate with most dental practice-management and imaging software. Tell us what you run and we’ll confirm compatibility before you buy, then set it up for you.

Very. RVG sensors are shock-resistant against bites and drops, and fully waterproof — they can be submerged in disinfectant for proper cross-infection control.

Yes. DenBite universal holders fit Carestream and Kodak RVG sensors in both Size 1 and Size 2, giving you accurate, repeatable placement and fewer retakes. They’re autoclavable and reusable.
