A magnetic sheath clips to your sensor. The Hyperlight M finds it in the patient’s mouth and guides you on screen.

Hyperlight M step 1: adjust the aiming distance

The screen shows if you are too close or too far.

Hyperlight M step 2: centre the X-ray beam on the sensor

2. Centre

Line the beam up with the middle of the sensor.

Hyperlight M step 3: correct the angle

3. Angle

Straighten up. No cone-cuts. No distortion.

Hyperlight M step 4: expose and capture the image

4. Expose

Green light. Press. The picture is taken.

What it does for you

Why choose the Eighteeth Hyperlight M handheld X-ray

Six features, what each one does, and what it means in your practice.

Handheld and portable

About 2 kg with the battery. Carry it from surgery to surgery.

One X-ray unit, not one in every room.

Helios AiM tracking

The unit finds the sheath on your sensor and guides distance, centre and angle on screen.

Fewer retakes, whoever takes the picture.

Works with your sensor

The sheath fits standard size 1 and size 2 intraoral sensors.

Keep the sensor you already own.

Battery powered

A lithium-ion battery gives more than 300 exposures per charge. It charges on its stand.

No cable. No wall mount.

Built-in back-scatter shield

0.3 mm lead-equivalent shielding sits between the operator and the patient.

Protection is part of the unit.

Touchscreen presets

Adult, child, peri-apical and bitewing presets on a colour touchscreen.

The right exposure in one tap.

Need a sensor too? See the Eighteeth NanoPix and the Carestream RVG.

Eighteeth Hyperlight M on its charging stand

One unit

It lives on its stand. It goes where you go.

  • Share it across two, three or more surgeries.
  • No wall-mount installation and no surgery out of action.
  • A second unit for a busy implant or endodontic practice.
  • Always charged. Put it back on the stand between patients.

Using it safely

Four things to know

The shield is built in

A back-scatter shield with 0.3 mm lead-equivalent protection is part of the unit.

It needs a critical exam

The law (IRR17) requires one before a new X-ray unit is used on patients. We can arrange it for £250 + VAT.

Your RPA sets the rules

Your Radiation Protection Adviser will tell you how to use a handheld unit in your practice. Follow their local rules.

We answer the phone

If you have a question about setting it up or using it, call us on 01943 601222.

Common questions

Eighteeth Hyperlight M questions answered

How much does the Eighteeth Hyperlight M cost in the UK?

£1,800 + VAT (£2,160 inc. VAT) from 360 Visualise. With a critical examination by our Radiation Protection Adviser it is £2,050 + VAT (£2,460 inc. VAT).

What is a critical exam and why do I need one?

A critical examination is a legal requirement under IRR17 before a new X-ray unit is used on patients. It checks that the equipment and its safety features work as they should. Add ours to your order for £250 + VAT, or use your own Radiation Protection Adviser.

Which sensors does it work with?

The Helios AiM sheath fits standard size 1 and size 2 intraoral sensors. It clips on with magnets and can be wiped clean and used again. Call us on 01943 601222 and we’ll check your sensor before you order.

How does the aiming guide work?

The sheath has small magnetic markers. The Hyperlight M detects them and works out where the sensor is. The screen then guides you: adjust the distance, centre the beam, correct the angle, and expose.

How long does the battery last?

A full charge is rated for more than 300 exposures. The unit charges on its stand, and a full charge takes about two hours.

Can I use it for domiciliary visits?

It is battery powered and portable, so it suits visits away from the practice. Ask your Radiation Protection Adviser first. You must meet IRR17 wherever you use it.

What happens after I order?

Order before 3pm and we send it the next working day. If you chose our critical exam, our Radiation Protection Adviser contacts you after delivery to arrange a visit. You can use the unit on patients once the exam is signed off.

What warranty does it come with?

A 1-year manufacturer’s warranty, with phone support from our UK team.

Eighteeth Hyperlight M. £1,800 + VAT. In stock.

One handheld X-ray for every surgery. Order before 3pm for next working day dispatch.
