The generator
The tubehead that produces the X-ray. Wall-mounted or portable. If yours is reliable, you can usually keep it and just go digital.
The receptor
What captures the image — a direct sensor (instant on screen) or a phosphor plate (thin, flexible, scanned). This is the digital upgrade.
The software
Where images land, get read and get stored — integrated with your practice management. We set this up and connect it for you.

Direct sensors (NanoPix, RVG) put the image on screen the instant you expose — the fastest workflow, ideal for endo and high-volume surgeries. Phosphor plates (PSPIX 2, CS 7600, CS 7200 Neo) are thin and flexible, comfortable for the patient, come in several sizes, and have no cable in the mouth. Many practices run both. Tell us how you work and we'll steer you.
In most cases, yes. Digital receptors are largely generator-agnostic — if your wall-mounted generator gives a consistent exposure, a modern sensor or plate scanner will work with it. We'll check your generator's age and condition before you buy.
Usually not. If you're shooting film today, you can keep a good generator and just add a digital receptor. If your generator is ageing or unreliable, we'll recommend a replacement (CS 2200 or X-Mind Unity) — but that's your call, never a forced upgrade.
Our engineers install and calibrate the hardware, set up the software and networking, and integrate it with your practice management. Then a Registered Dental Nurse trains your team on clinical workflow. Most practices are taking diagnostic images the same day.
Digital receptors need far less dose than film. We support you with critical examination / acceptance testing and IRMER guidance so you're audit-ready. We've set up hundreds of practices and know what inspectors look for.
