Your trainers

Taught by the lab.

Most courses are taught by clinicians teaching what they think the lab needs. We do the opposite. You're learning from the team who actually design and manufacture the guides, every day, for hundreds of UK dentists. Backed by Ambridge Ceramics — multi-award winning, established 1986, and one of the UK's leading manufacturers of digital surgical guides.

Lab lead

Ollie Ambridge

Ambridge Ceramics · Implant guide specialist

Ollie leads the implant guide workflow at Ambridge Ceramics. Trained in the lab from the ground up, his strength is taking a dentist's plan and turning it into a guide that fits cleanly first time, every time. On Day 1 he walks you through the lab side of the workflow. On Day 2 your printed guide arrives in his hands.

Technical lead

Cameron Kelly

Ambridge Ceramics · Guided surgery lab lead

Cameron's knowledge of the lab side of guided surgery is outstanding. He works with dentists every day to design, manufacture and troubleshoot surgical guides, and he is the technical lead delegates spend the most time with on the course. If your guide doesn't seat or your file won't export, Cameron is the one who fixes it.

SMOP specialist

Emma Downing

Swissmeda · UK SMOP trainer & service centre lead

Emma has been working with SMOP for eight years, running a Swissmeda UK Service Centre. She joined Swissmeda directly in January 2023, bringing her years of teaching the software to clinicians to the team. She now visits universities, institutes and study clubs on their behalf to introduce delegates to SMOP, alongside assisting with one-to-one training and demonstrations.

Questions

Things you might want to know.

If you have a question we haven't answered, call us on 01943 601222 or email education@360v.co.uk.

Who is this course for?
UK GDC-registered dentists who want to add guided single-implant surgery to their practice. Suitable for clinicians who already place implants freehand and want to move to digital, and for those starting their guided journey from scratch. We recommend you have a CBCT and intraoral scanner available at your practice — though both are demonstrated on the course.
Do I need any prior SMOP experience?
No. We start from the basics. By the end of Friday afternoon you'll have planned a full case from scratch with one-on-one trainer support. The free licence you receive at the end means you can keep practising long after the course.
Is the SMOP licence really free?
Yes — every delegate receives a SMOP licence as part of the course fee. Worth £250 RRP. The licence is yours to keep and use to plan as many cases as you like after the course.
What implant systems will we plan for?
SMOP supports a wide range of third-party implant systems out of the box. We'll demonstrate planning workflows using SMOP's main library, and show how to handle systems not natively included using SMOP's custom guide option. If you have a specific system you'd like to plan against, let us know in advance.
What CPD does the course count for?
12+ hours of verifiable CPD aligned to GDC development outcomes A, C and D. A certificate is issued on completion of both days.
Where is Octagon House and how do I get there?
Octagon House is in Sandbeds, West Yorkshire (BD20 5LY) — about 15 minutes from Leeds Bradford Airport. Crossflatts station is a 5-minute walk from the venue, with three trains an hour from Leeds and direct connections to London King's Cross and Scotland via Leeds. On-site parking is free for delegates. The Premier Inn Bradford North (Bingley) is around the corner if you'd like to stay over after the Green Room dinner. Full travel info is in the “Getting here” section above.
Is dinner really included?
Yes — Friday evening dinner in The Green Room (our on-site bar at Octagon House) is included in the course fee. You'll eat with your trainers and the 360 team. Saturday lunch and all refreshments throughout both days are also included.
Can I bring a colleague or nurse?
Each booking is for one delegate. If you'd like a colleague to attend with you, they need their own place — we'll do our best to seat you together. Discounted rates may be available for two delegates from the same practice on the same cohort — get in touch.
What's your cancellation policy?
Full refund up to 28 days before the course. 50% refund up to 14 days before. After that, we can transfer your place to a future cohort up to 12 months ahead, or you can nominate a colleague to attend in your place.
